Last year I have discovered a wonderful hashtag on Instagram #slowhandmadechristmas. And I should tell you, I have been very happy to meet so many creative people and ideas. For sure I have contributed my own DIYs and it was a very adorable exchange.
I have found there a cute Jesus crib as a hanging basket made of walnut and I was immediately in love. I have made some with my children during last Christmas holidays and I have saved them for this year. I wanted to have a crocheted crib too, so I have made some of wool and cord.
What you need:
- Walnut
- Wool
- Cord
- Crochet hook
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Wooden figure or wooden balls
- Any fabric, wool or anything else you have at home to make clothes or wrap
- Bells or anything else to decorate
If you don’t have a little wooden figure, you can glue 2 wooden balls. Please see the picture below.
You need the half of a walnut to use it as a basket. Glue the cord inside.
Now you can put your baby inside. Here is the cord I have used to crochet the basket.
I wanted to wrap my baby Jesus, so I used vintage cotton ribbon and I love this nostalgic look.
You can put many of the baskets together on one branch in a vase. For sure you can hang them wherever you wish!
Happy crafting!
Show me yours please and tag me on Instagram.
